Although Toornament does not feature a fully-fledged FFA Format just yet, we came up with a way for you to create and manage Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Free-For-All tournaments, just like they did during the Gamescom!
September got CS:GO’ed!
September is bound to be a huge month for
The month started really strong with the knockout phase of the DH Masters Malmö, which saw G2 Esports come out on top:
After a break last week, while teams were in Sweden for the DH Masters, the ESL Pro Leagues are back with their weekly clashes and ever-evolving rankings:
As for the upcoming tournaments, this week-end will see a split in teams, between those that chose to go (or only qualified for) the 2017 ELeague Premier…
… and another Dreamhack competition, in Montreal this time!
And of course, next week will be the ESL One New York:
So it’s a packed up month for CS:GO players, and fans. It underlines the duality of the current CS:GO esports scene, which is the plethora of tournaments, to the point where it becomes hard to be able to attend them all (for players) or follow them all (for spectators), leading to a possible lost of impetus… Let’s hope it doesn’t happen, and that the hype stays as strong as ever, with an October month that’s bound to be a bit quieter, before November arrives, with its full week-ends!
And for those who also love to play CS:GO, head over to our Open Community Tournaments!
New Feature: Platforms
Today, we add a new Feature to Toornament: The Platform. You now have to set (at least) a Platform when creating a new tournament.
The setting is required, and has to be filled in for the tournament to be created:
We have listed platforms per discipline, meaning you will get a list of the available platforms for each game, and when there is only one, it will be set by default.
As for the “Generic Discipline”, it has all of them,
You can also access this option from the “Settings” menu, in case you made a mistake, or would like to add another Platform to the list:
Beware though, if you edit the Settings of an existing tournament, you will now have to set the platform(s) for the saves to be effective, else you’ll be confronted with an error like this:
The form has not been submitted due to invalid data. Please fix them and submit again.
Please fill in the platform for your tournament, as this information is now required.
This is the first step towards a better classification of tournaments on the website, to allow participants to search for tournaments on a platform-basis.
Let us know if you spot any incoherence in the platforms lists!
Additionally, we also changed the process to Login and Register to the website… Nothing changed technically, just a small update to make it better looking on mobile devices, and an improvement needed for new features to come!
Here is what it now looks like (Register on the left, Login on the right):
Support v2: Help Center and Discord Server are Live!
In our drive to offer the best user experience there is, we are today proud to announce our new Help Center and Discord Server!
Help Center
Though useful, our current Knowledge Base, on our Blog was far from perfect. A bit tedious to read and browse, it contained most of the answers you needed, but those were not always easy to find.
Thus, we today introduce the brand new Help Center that gathers all the resources from the Knowledge Base, supplemented with a F.A.Q, all tucked up in a practical and agreeable setting.
For starters, we recommend you read one (or both) of these guides, depending on why you are on Toornament:
We hope you will like and use it, and all comments are welcome on how to make it even better!
Server
Our official Support channels welcome a newcomer today, as we officially launch our Discord Server!
Most of you are already familiar with the software, but for those who don’t, let’s simply say it is a combination of text and voice channels, and that ultimately, we hope it will become a community-driven channel, that people use to get quick answers to their everyday questions, whatever the time!
Of course, all previous ways of contacting us remain open, and are still fully operational, we just add a new way of communicating with the team and the community!
Here is the August’s Open Community tournaments selection!
Another month, other tournaments!
Here we are again, with a selection of Open tournaments for you to play in!
So take a minute, check what we have in store, and maybe next week, you’ll be able to refer to yourself as a champion!
