If most of our community wants it tournament to be easily searchable and sharable, some want to run private event, or just test new things without trumpet calls.
For those organizers, we have the solution to create “Private” tournaments:

There are two ways to associate a date and time to your matches. We originally add this information for each match, in the “Miscellaneous” tab.

Recently, we added the “Schedule” option, so that you can add private of public schedules to your tournament covering all matters, from the main stage agenda to the times your technical staff has to show up in the morning for server tests.

While they come very handy, Schedules are not specifically linked to matches.

 

 

As this option has become really popular, we intend to merge the “date/time” option into a type of Schedule in the near future, so that you can both batch edit dates and times and have them automatically assigned to their respective matches!

In the meantime, the best way to adress a date/time for a match right now is to stick to the good old “Matches/Miscellaneous” tab.

Don’t worry, Toornament works totally fine with every video game on the market. Our “supported disciplines” are games for which we
fine tune Toornament settings.

How much should you charge for your event? This open question calls for open answers. Even though there isn’t a definitive one (except “42”?), there are rules and tips you can follow to set your price right. We listed for you the 10 we use and follow the most:

A member of our community recently asked this: is there a way to bring the Davis Cup format on Toornament? The Davis Cup is a specific format relying on both team and individual matches.

A typical Davis Cup match poises two teams one against each other in a Best Of 5 format.

Each team will assign a player to each game, but won’t know which player the opposite team will pick. Note that in the original tennis competition, a player cannot take part in more than 3 matches: one of the first day single matches, the second day double match and one of the third day single matches.

It is very easy to recreate the Davis Cup format in Toornament, thanks to our “Public Note” feature:

1. Start a team tournament with the (nick)names of all players for each rosters. Set match format to “Best of 5”. (check our post, how to define a match format)
2. Each team’s captain will then provide to the admin his line up for the 5 games.
3. In the dashboard, click on a individual match “Miscellaneous” tab and use the public notes to indicate which players will face each other.
